Tau

So finally the reason why everything ended up delayed, I always wanted some Tau models, they're great Sci-Fi models and can be fairly generic in comparison to most of the GW stable of miniatures. I picked up some from eBay in bits and bobs and the results are below.

It's taken ages to get them all painted up in a similar fashion and I did loads of other things alongside them, they've been on the table a few times as well playing Grim Dark Future (from One Page Rules).

KoW Elves

We were talking about doing a big game of Kings of War, I already have my Dwarves and we'd need some more 'good' aligned armies to face the massive Orc horde so I had a look at my elves and can manage a 2000 pt force as shown.

I'll need to get sabots made up for everything and I'll need to paint up about a dozen or so models and properly base the rest but with some time to get ready this should be doable in the next month or so.

Germans for CoC

In the grand tidy up and catch up I finally got round to flocking the bases of my last squad of Germans, leaders and support options. So here are the obligatory washed out pictures. New phone does not mean better pictures, lets call it user error.

The big picture, 3 squads of 10 men, including a Junior leader and an LMG team.
Senior Leader options
2 man sniper team
Werfer of flamen, panzershreck and panzerfaust.

I'm not sure I need much more for these, tentatively of the Luftwaffe, with a squad of Fallschirmjager (sp?) and the rest standard troops, I could perhaps do with getting another 3 LMG's and an MMG, so as able to field different periods but probably not necessary yet.

Next I'm sorting through my dark ages stuff, to see what else I need to make up units/groups for Dux Brit and Saga Forces as I'm sure I was a group/part of a group short for 2 Dux forces.

Sharp Practice British

Well it's been a while and in amongst the tidying up of other projects, I finally managed to finish the last group for my Napoleonic British, so I've now got both sets ready to play. (Yay) Just need to do another couple of Deployment/objective markers and perhaps investigate some support options, but that's how it goes.

The full set, 4 groups of line/light infantry, 2 groups of rifles/light skirmishers, 5 officers, 2 drummers, 1 colour party and a deployment point.
2 Officers and an NCO for the infantry groups, there are 2 drummers as well.
2 Rifle Officers, one with his rifle in hand, heavy sabre and his blue french cavalry trousers.
And an almost passable close up.

Sharp Practice French

Well it's finally done, I've finished off a Napoleonic force! I really detested painting these figures, I think it's just the level of detail on the uniforms that annoyed me and as a result it took so long to do. (Although it's actually just under a year as I picked the first of these up at Claymore last year, we just won't mention the British that have been languishing for far longer) They require a level of crispness that I'm just not used to painting anymore, recent armies have all been, dark ages, ww2 etc. Anyway here's the usual badly focused/lit pictures.

I'm going to paint a few random things next, last squad for my CoC germans, finish off the last Amazon bases, Tuetonic leader for Saga Crescent and the Cross.  Then I think I'll need a concerted effort to try and get the British done to match this lot.

British Para's

As promised some time ago, here are some bad pics of my British Para's for Chain of Command. It's missing the support options, they are mostly painted and ready but need based as I discovered the bases they came with are entirely useless and don't fit. Especially the 6pdr, the base is far too small.
 The main platoon
The man in charge, undisturbed with his mug of tea in hand.
 Squad 1
 squad 2
And finally a little bit of something to cheer the troops up. Jodie from Colonel Bills.

Darkages to Vikings

Well it's been a while and it's been a busy time with lots of painting going on to finish off a variety of armies. First up my Vikings, pretty much everything is Gripping Beast and this gives me enough for two full Dux Britanarium forces as well as enough figures to cover any other skirmish game we try out for this period.

The army in it's entirety.

Harald and his Champion

Huscarls, Hearthguard,

Bersekers, Cavaly

Freeman, Bondi etc

Levy, Leidang etc

Skirmishers.

As always, apologies for the crap pictures but trying to get a decent amount of sunlight into the room with all my stuff is a challenge.

I have another Lord but I need to get round to painting his banner before it's finished.

Next will be back to 10mm....

Pictures

First off the Tuetonics as they appeared in the tournament (Well almost, minus the javelin skirmishers and in with my proxy bowmen instead. and my unfinished unit of knights back left) as I may have said still some basing and highlights to get done to finish them off to satisfaction.

And finally my vikings as they are at the moment, just because they were sitting out on the table at the time.

Starting Point.

Well here's some bad pics of where I'm starting out with my Tuetonics.

Armoured infantry (Military Order Sergeants) are Fireforge Foot Sergeants, so are the crossbowmen (Military Order Crossbowmen). Front right and left with a dodgy Pavise from a Tombking.

Archers (Livonian Foot Skirmishers) and semi painted knights are Bretonians (Nobles and German Mercenaries)

Horse archers (Livonian Horse Archers) are some really old Grenadier elves.

Mounted Sergeants (Turcopoles) and the Teutonic Knights (as is) are the other ones from Fireforge with several still to be made up. However I really need to get my hands on 2 skirmish bases of Livonian Javelins t omake the force I want to try and field, then see how it all works out.
